The fall is my favorite time of year, partly because the antidote to the season gives us all the reasons to sit back, receive, and rest. It’s something most of us find difficult and yet we all need it, sometimes desperately.

One of the best ways to calm the nervous system is to flush out the gut. It improves all facets of life, which is the reason I’ve developed this tried and true program. If you’re in the Charleston area, I’d love you to join us this year. It’s time to eat, sleep, and sex well!

This is a little background about my biggest awakening and how it plopped me into the happiest life I've ever imagined.

After I had a colon cancer removed, I had an ostomy for ten months. My large intestine was cut in two, part of it removed along with the tumor, and the other part sewn through the surface of my abdomen so I could eliminate. As bizarre as the procedure sounds to someone who is unfamiliar, the body can function very well that way. Yes, it was a change, but it also meant I got to live so I never had hard feelings about it.

I remember when I said out loud to someone for the first time that my insides were outside of my body. And just then, it clicked. This was my pathway to inside out living: a life of vibrancy, depth, and full-on vulnerability. Each day after my surgery I chose to let it all hang out and not be scared of the unknown. I decided I would be publicly open about my journey, and in turn I have gained an army of supporters who watch and cheer for me as I forge ahead. My surgeon asked me to be the Keynote Speaker at his annual Colorectal Cancer Symposium. Together he and I are the core of a major colon cancer screening awareness campaign through Roper St. Francis Cancer Center, where I receive the bulk of my treatment.

Now I offer a pathway to inside out healing. I provide guidance for others to gracefully navigate through the ebbs and flows of life. The protective suit of armor that so many of us wear is a means to get through the day but not through the muck. We have to be willing to feel the good, bad, and the ugly in order to shed layers and renew. Once that happens, true connection with self emerges. Creativity will flow. Doors will open. Life will improve. I am a down-to-earth, young-at-heart woman who infuses the wisdom from my studies and rawness of my own experiences with colon cancer, multiple major surgeries, life with an ostomy, the loss of my dad, grief, anxiety, and depression to help you remove blockages and maintain an optimal quality of life. I keep it real.

Simple choices. Profound shifts. The waiting, wondering, stressing stops now. Happiness awaits.

In relationship - if we are fortunate - we digest all kinds of thoughts, words, emotions, and sensations. . The digestive system is not and has never been limited to what we often refer to it as - salivary glands, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, and the rectum. . This system of digesting food is linked to the mind - how we digest thought, respond to circumstance, discern, and decision make. . These systems are connected to the heart - how we feel, how we spread love or fear, illuminate or dim, radiate or contract. . All of this digesting cannot happen if we are willing to recognize the spectrum of thoughts/feels. . All of this digesting can happen with more ease and less time if we commit to breathing into that awareness. . Prana/chi goes where the mind directs it. . If you have pain or discomfort physically, the body has stagnation there - read: not digesting but holding/clenching/stressing. . So instead of avoiding (staying über busy) or numbing (pain relievers), take s moment to feel what you feel and breathe deeply while doing it. . You might just poop out some anger that’s been lodged for a very long time. . By connecting physical and breathing, the nervous system relaxes and heart energy expands. . *there are always exceptions to the rule and sometimes body to body contact is not the answer. Know the science and only do this if you know the person very, very, very well! . . .
I have a thank you and two questions for you. . . This year 11.11 definitely brought with it larger than earthly relationships and a sense of pure connection. . Days like that truly are out of this world. 🚀 . Days like that aren’t something we are guaranteed no matter how much event planning and marketing communication goes into it. . Work versus play...building from yesterday... . When we make a commitment to ourselves and our highest good, the ripple creates a worldwide benefit. . . Our intentions are magnified. . Let’s feel our feelings openly. Remember napping is medicine and nothing to be ashamed of. ...that some years are tough, really tough. Shadow is required for us to step into our light. ...that sometimes structured routines are medicine. ...that within the structures that help sustain us, openness to new ways and spontaneity is medicine too. ...that boundaries are essential for us all. . Take some time to be still. To feel. To notice where the mind wants to take you and witness it instead of feeding it. ...Hello, rabbit hole! I remember you! Nice to see you. I am grateful for the lessons you've offered me. I am choosing not to believe you anymore. . Whether you are in a seated meditation or cleaning up the house in a mindful moving meditation of sorts, take a step back from your thinking mind and watch it. Being a witness - versus an emotional active participant - is the key to noticing without judgement. . ➡️ Start redistributing your fvcks. ⬅️ Notice how much lighter and in the flow of life (instead of resisting what's happening) you feel when you just stop giving so much attention and energy to things that DON'T allow you to shine your light. Notice the traps that tantalize you. The familiar ones that are easy to entertain and engage with are the most tricky. They tend to be the ones that trigger us. . The science 🤓 ... When we trigger, experiences go past the prefrontal cortex (conscious mind) and skip straight to the limbic system (unconscious mind), which is known as the reptilian brain because it's the oldest part of our grey matter and the part that reacts [think sympathetic fight/flight/freeze] instead of responds mindfully. . The amygdala is the part of the brain where we actually trigger, allowing us to save our own lives in present danger. . Having this happen over spilled milk isn’t necessary. . Having this happen when we forget to respond to an email isn’t necessary. . What are you choosing to give less effs about? . . .
Can the ability to tap into joy be learned? . Let’s be honest. Waking up isn’t easy. . . Including myself, a lot of people refer to this process as The Work. . I challenge that. . This commitment to awareness day after day - noticing our thoughts, emotions, sensations, habits, actions, non-actions - is just that. . Commitment. . And more than that, it’s an EXPERIENCE. . The experience of taking care of our bodies, our container, so we can fully immerse ourselves into living fully. . The experience of witnessing the mind’s way of thinking is so important in the realization that we have a choice of what we believe. . The experience of releasing the pieces of a hardened heart and unveiling it’s vulnerability is crucial to our ability to see where our boundaries are so we can communicate them. . Often it’s the heartbreak, the illness, the hero’s journey that shakes us and wakes us. . If we choose to stay in awe of the simple things - like watching nature unfold during the sunset or a bird take flight over the ocean, we will stay profoundly humbled and aligned with grace. . So yes, the process of awakening isn’t easy. . It is, however, possible to rewire the brain through awareness, nature, new choices, new habits. . It’s called neuroplasticity - the ability to change the way we think! . . It may not be easy, and it definitely is worth it! . Right now I’m focused on more harmony, deeper clarity, and continuing to refine my natural-given gift of guiding others toward the same. . Lately I’ve been receiving hits from the Universe the day before I would predict they’d come. . For example, the last few full moons I was jolted into emotion the day before the moon was in its fullness. . Then the day before the reading about the Joyous Dancer came out I put myself in a shape I haven’t visited on camera since just after my near death awakening in 2013. . Saturday I was in DeBordieu with a truly aligned #mastermind group and found myself in this pose, accepting the invitation of @qfitperspective 😉 . I used to have a “not enough”story about it yet when I did this for the camera I realized that judgmental story is now gone. . I felt the pose instead of laying heavy thought baggage onto the shape - which would inevitably weigh it down - even though my feet were sinking in the sand. 🤣. . I have lifetimes of deep programming - some I’m in love with daily, some I’m rewriting as we speak, other parts I openly accept I haven’t tapped into yet. . First to admit. I don’t know what I don’t know. . I am grateful for it all. . The only way to peacefully resolve our challenges is through, so let’s go down this tunnel of love arm in arm. . As with all 💩, the gentler, more consistent the release is a sign that tells us we’re in flow. . We cannot and will not digest easily if we aren’t listening to what it takes to stay in our own lane, at our own rhythm, and harmonize that beat with those who elevate our force of nature with their own. .
